Summary of proposed changes for Resolution Life New Zealand policyholders to transition to Asteron Life (Acenda Life)
We are proposing to simplify our structure and better align our New Zealand businesses as we take steps to become Acenda Life in 2027. This will happen in two stages, both of which require approval by our regulators and therefore the date below is our best estimate.
Your policy will continue to be managed with the same care and commitment you’ve come to expect.
Stage 1 – A dedicated New Zealand statutory fund
Our New Zealand policies are currently held in a statutory fund that includes both Australian and New Zealand policies. We plan to create a new statutory fund that will hold only New Zealand policies. All New Zealand policyholders are expected to move into this fund by 1 October 2026.
Stage 2 – Transition to Asteron Life
In 2027, we propose to transfer all New Zealand policies to Asteron Life. Asteron Life will become your insurer and, at the same time, Asteron Life will become Acenda Life.
From 2027 we will be known as Acenda Life bringing our businesses together as a single New Zealand-based life entity.
